The new year has arrived, and along with it, new goals, dreams, “resolutions”, high aspirations, and fresh hopes for the coming 52 weeks.

A blank slate.

A new beginning.

But we encourage you to pause where you are at, and ask yourself, in what ways do you want your year to look spiritually different this year?

Let’s be honest, we’ve tried it all.

We’ve tried the journals.

We’ve tried the Pinterest boards, workout regimens, daily routines (like bed making, and packing lunches ahead of time), meal planning, you name it.

But, how many of you would agree that the best preparation is rooted in biblical vision and preparation as we focus our hearts and minds in God’s truths about who HE is, and who WE are IN Him!? God’s Word calls us to live TRANSFORMED by the renewing of our minds. What better way to start our NEW year by the RE-NEWING of our minds?

Not just a physical detox, workout plan, or goal, but a spiritual detox.

One that will transform, and renew you as you reflect on, and fix your eyes on the Word of God to start your new year. These spiritual truths found in the Word of God can change not only the course of your year but your entire life!

  1. 1 Peter 5:7Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.

  2. 2 Corinthians 5:17 – Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: the old has gone, the new is here!

  3. Isaiah 33:6 – He will be the stability of your times, a wealth of salvation, wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the LORD is his treasure.

  4. Proverbs 10:25 – When the whirlwind passes, the wicked is no more, but the righteous has an everlasting foundation.

  5. Psalm 65:11 – You crown the year with a bountiful harvest; even the hard pathways overflow with abundance.

  6. Ezekiel 36:26 – I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.”

  7. Colossians 3:12-17 – Let the peace of Christ control your hearts, the peace into which you were also called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, as in all wisdom you teach and admonish one another, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

  8. Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

  9. Lamentations 3: 22-24 – Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.  They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.  I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.

  10. Deuteronomy 23:5 –A blessing for you, because the Lord your God loves you.

  11. 1 Chronicles 16:8 –Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done.

  12. James 1:17 – Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

  13. 1 Chronicles 16:11-12 – Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.  Remember the wonders he has done.

  14. Philippians 4:6 –Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

  15. Proverbs 3:5-6 – Trust in the LORD with all your heart, do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

  16. Psalm 96: 1-3 – Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth.  Sing to the Lord, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day.  Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.

  18. Proverbs 16:9 – In his heart, a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.

  19. Colossians 3:17 – and whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

  20. Isaiah 43:18-19 – Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
